solo and collaborative work
March 16th through April 20th, 2013
Opening Reception: March 16th, 2013, 6 to 10 pm
Casual Talk with the Artists : 7:30 - 8 pm
Scott Porcelli and Joseph Iacona have known each other since 2005, where they met at Kutztown University. The two began collaborating and allowing each other’s work to inform the others. Their connection lies in their mutual fascination with observing the “natural”. Over time, they have continued to remain in touch and have nurtured their artistic vocabulary collectively, still collaborating today. Both Artists incorporate a mixture of realism and abstraction each Artist becoming more disparate from the other over time, arriving at opposite sides of the spectrum.
“Patterns of the Earth” exhibits each Artist’s recent work individually and work they produced together focused on the theme of “force”, both observable and intangible. Exhibited along with their own personal pieces will be a large polyptych oil painting, drawings and a lithograph they created together.
